The book “The Jostiband ANOTHER THING!” was written by three members of the orchestra. They took the opportunity of the 50th anniversary of the Jostiband to paint a picture of this special company in this book. The members of the orchestra Paul Opdam, Patrick Hielema and Niels Nijenhuis wrote large parts of the book themselves. They held interviews, took photographs and put others to work telling, interviewing, and writing. They asked Dutch celebrities everything they wanted to know, showed how tough their rehearsals are: (‘a little jingling is really not enough!’); talk about performances, jokes, friendship, prejudice, fun, and self-respect.

The result: an orchestra pit full of stories.

The Algemeen Dagblad wrote an article about this book.
“More books have been published about the Jostiband, but then you read how the writer experiences it. And that is not quite how we experience it.” The message from Patrick, Niels and Paul is clear. The book “The Jostiband, another thing! – The only orchestra that doesn’t make you down” is really their own book.
They describe how they live their lives with all the ups and downs that go with it.

On the initiative of these writers/creators, part of the proceeds of this book will be donated to the Kika foundation for the fight against child cancer.
